Louis Calabro is a Toronto writer, performer, DJ, promoter, comedian, and dancer with impeccable fashion sense. In 2005 he and two friends began the popular 1950s/60s dance party Goin' Steady at the then unknown bar, "The Boat" in historic Kensington Market. Louis performs his original stage material in and around Toronto and has for the past four years at such prestigious events as Nuit Blanche and Trampoline Hall. In 2006 he began the performance series The End of the Internet and has since featured best-selling Canadian poet, Christian Bök and Baltimore absurdist composer Dan Deacon. Louis' first text, Stop Here on Red Signal 96 was published by Lyrical Myrical Press in 2005. He is currently the Genie Awards Manager at the Academy of Canadian Cinema & TV, all while continuing the ongoing Hijacking Reading Series and producing and DJ'ng the hottest parties in Toronto City.
